i cant believe michael jackson passed away..

i think the world feels the same way. he's lived far too short a life for someone so amazing. i mean like seriously, though i'm no big fan, his music is and has always been, good. one of the best. top of the charts kinda good. and now suddenly, everywhere you go, there's news on him. on entertainment news, local news, on channel news asia, on magazine headlines

to put it blatantly, its like he shot from famous to mega popularity once he died. isn't it funny the way the world works? the kinda fame and popularity he's receiving now would be something current artistes would die for. forgive the pun but true isn't it? i'm sure given a choice, he would rather have that kinda fame when he was alive and aware of receiving it. i'm not sure now if he's aware of how much fame he's receiving but thats another story.

it just brings to mind how death can lead to so so many things. fame is just one of them. death can in fact, bring people closer together.. take the mj incident for example. fans of mj that never knew each other probably comforted each other as they grieved over his death.

I for one, have experienced such a situation. when my grandma passed away years back on, people that we hardly saw or heard from suddenly flocked to our side and were overly friendly and concerned. okay, perhaps they are concerned. they just had an issue with timing. they couldnt be concerned when she was ill back then. only had time to be concerned after her death.

when my grandfather passed away even earlier on, our families were not really close. aunties, cousins etc etc, we just met for the new year and thats it. we would occasionally visit the grandparents but we did it separately. not as one whole large family. however, when he was hospitalised, all of us flocked to his side immediately, together one large family crammed there. and it brought us closer together too as we grieved for that one person we all felt for.

death indeed is puzzling ehan instant shot at fame. instant shot at closer familiessounds like quite a deal. not that i'm interested in death/ suicidal and or that. life's too precious. =)
