shaz's judo day
Monday, May 25, 2009 12:09 AM

went to support shaz in her judo competition today despite the pressing need to study.
felt that friendship was more important than studies for the moment. hahaa
hey i always regard friendship as a high priority okayy. haha
anyways, arranged to meet up with sasi at tanah merah station according to shaz's directions that it was just a mere walking distance to the stadium.
and we got lost.
it didnt help that i overslept and ended up 20 mins late. sowee! haha
and after getting our directions right, we spent the next 15mins or so walking under the terribly hot sun. by the time we finally reached the place armed with cold ice lemon tea and rose, it was almost as if we have fought with the contestants ourselves already
as quoted from sasi. hahhaaa.
and to top it ALL off, there was no bloody aircon in that place.
it was freakkkking hot.

in the end i used the notes that i brought there to study to fan myself.
and it left them crumpled and slightly torn
they look as if like i have studied them for thousands of years
i'm pretty hardworking i know. *shy look* hahah
anywho, without further ado, lets talk about the event.
it was a cross island event, with several schools taking part.
but most of the competitors were little children teens.
it was pretty fun watching them hustle and attempt to flip each other though some could be quite violent. furthermore, in judo, its all about flipping the opponent on his/her back. its like in their minds, everyone is like "turn. cmon TURN OVER". haha
and as usual, when you're bored, you resort to vanity

us 3. bffs of different levels. hahaaa

the place.

reason for pic: know why she's rubbing her eyes? guess how long she slept last night? guesss. few hours? nah. 10 mins. yes you saw right. 10 MINS. xiao.

shaz's turn was no. 59. which just meant that we had to wait realllly long just for her to fight
its quite amusing when i say it like that.
want to fight also must wait. whats the world got into, i wonder
poor sasi, who was out the entire night, was completely burned out and stoned. so he left during the lunch interval.
which left shaz, her maid, her aunt, and me watching her during the tournament.
all that excitement and anxiety.. alas, too bad, she lost.
not that she wasnt good though, don't get me wrong.
she was good. really strong. but her opponent was just too fast in her attacks.
which left her counterattacking her opponent. and got fouled for not attacking.
how are you supposed to attack when your opponent is attackingattackingattacking.
oh well. all i can say is, good job nonetheless! learn from this experience and take everyone out the next time!
her few sinsehs were pretty hilarious. making sure that she didnt feel down, they made her laugh, encouraged her, and just did all the things an instructor should do.
kudos to them all! =)

anyway, it felt good to be out of the house and among friends again. have been cooped up in the house buried under my books for so long, it felt like i was distanced from civilisation
anyway, something sasi said about knowing that there are others dying with him while he studies for sensation & perception felt good to him struck me.
no matter how tedious something may be, no matter how much you feel like giving up on something, just remind yourself that most likely you arent alone.
there are others out there suffering together with you as well.
you're never aloneeee. positive thinking.
makes you feel better eh? haha so yup, as i try to cram cognitive neuroscience into this tiny brain of mine now, i know i'm not alone and i'm sure my friends are doing the same for other subjects and dying too.
aaah i feel better already. *beams*
