friendship

am here at this unearthly hour once again. to destress myself through some finger excercise. have been writing notes till my fingers are in that 'holding the pen' pose like even now. okay anyway, had my dose of ANTM earlier on just now. so i'm off suffering from withdrawal symptoms for now.

man.. i hate exams. its time consuming. stressful. unpredictable. causes nail-biting anxiety. whats the use of it all. yah yah you'll probably say its good becoz exams help make sure you revise through what you're learning blahblahblah. but having said that, i don't even remember what i learned for psych last yr. so much for revision. they should have an all chapters exam. oh oops. forget i mentioned that. shh. lala.

i know this is probably crap. but the main course thing today that i want to vent on is the birthday thingy. this yr, most of my friends turn the big 2 1. yay. happy. adulthood. can get drunk. can go prison. etcetc. but the trouble goes to those celebrating it for or with you. here comes the headache. what should i get her that is worthy of a 21st bdae present? is this too cheap? is that too expensive? what would be memorable enough? trust me. those thoughts run through my head too when i choose presents. anyway, as i was saying. its a pain in the ass. i mean, headache. and the trouble doesnt end here. the dilemma of what to buy isn't enough. there is also the trouble of getting pple together to buy it. for what i don't understand. coz for me, i wouldn't mind going with just another friend to go choose. another opinion you know. if they're not free, i go alone. as simple as that. and i did that before. as in choosing a present myself. after calling the others for their opinions of course. however, apparently not everyone seems to have the same thought. apparently, they have to get AS MANY PPL AS POSSIBLE TO BUY A MISERABLE PRESENT. ok. i was referring to a past incident. this recent one, they had to get like 4 presents since we missed so many april and may babies. and this particular organiser was pleading me to go with them that day.

i was like, ok. even though i find it ridiculous to have so many ppl go choose presents, i wouldnt mind going. but my exams start like the wk after nxt. so i'm up to my neck with papers all day at home. so i wont be going out at all. so i wouldnt be able to make it. however this organiser, who also coincidentally has exams around the same time as i do, refuses to take no for an answer. and he even said "just take a break from your studies and come with us. not enough ppl. please? we won't take very long, prob from noon to evening. i also don't intend to hang ard." righttttttt. that sentence itself had so many flaws. firstly, not enough ppl? are you seriously kidding me? how many people do you need to gather ard to make a decision as to what to buy. if you ask me, ppl will just stand ard and say ANYTHING LAH. *rolls eyes* and then, you're going to buy presents for FOUR people. you won't take long? seeing as how no one will be punctual as usual, and you throw in a dinner or lunch or both, and you take long to decide for 1, then another then another then another, i'm so freaking sure you wont take long. and i was right. one of the ppl in the grp called to ask if i was sharing the presents with them and from the sound and the looks of it all, they were still at the place, having bought the presents. probably having supper. since it was what? oh yah, 10 plus PM at night. noon to evening my foot. boy am i glad i stayed home with my darling books.

well so, the organiser himself isnt particularly happy with me that i didnt want to join in. but well, i apologized and have done my part. so there. but judging from his msn nick, he is extremely upset that people do not want to go tog to buy presents. i don't understand him. and i don't intend to. but one thing's for sure. it has the word childish stamped all over it.

and another thing. when they called to ask if i wanted to share the presents with them, i agreed. coz they too shared for mine and it wouldnt be nice to disagree. and also, i haven spent much this month. so still can afford. so yah. but there are other ppl who are apparently quite tight on cash at the moment and thus apologizingly said that they didnt want to share. and guess what. yes i know what you're thinking and you're right. the group that was there and were sharing, (i'm not sure if the organiser is one of them) but yah, those people, they got unhappy with this friend of mine who didnt want to share. yup she came to me to vent her unhappiness too. and i welcomed her. not that i'm a sucker for unhappiness but its always good to have someone or something to channel your emotions. otherwise you're like a time bomb. ok back to topic. i don't know what is wrong with these ppl. if ppl do not want to share, they might have their own personal reasons for doing so. not everyone can be as rich as bill gates and fork out money for presents for everyone so readily like that. furthermore, this friend of mine is very involved in church. so perhaps she's tight on cash becoz she has already spent a lot on presents for other people from there? think about that first before you start showing your unhappiness to her. and knowing her character, its not like she's purposefully being selfish. she's just not the type to be. selfish i mean. so it was downright wrong and unreasonable of you people to treat her like that. oh well. the world's like that. as what mum always say. its when you go through more things with people that you start to realize that oh maybe they arent so great friends that we thought they were huh.

anyway, this whole bdae thing for that one particular girl is messing my head up. literally. one moment the celebration is on this day and everything is prepared as a surprise.. and it coincides with my exams. wonderful huh. then the bdae person comes and msg everyone to go out on that day. so we're supposed to say no we're not free since its a surprise. and i didnt lie. ha. i really AM not free. but seeing that no one is free, he/she makes it on another day. so i presumed everything's changed to the new date which is later on after my exams so i'm freeer. but then when the friend called (the one that asked if i wanted to share presents), he asked if i going for the celebration. so that i can pay him. apparently i owed him 10 bucks since march. ha. so i said, the new date right? and he says no wad. its the early date. surprise ma. huh. but if the bdaep person is planning another gathering on a new date, wont she suspect like why are you guys asking me out on the early date. thought not free? so when is the celebration?

i have no idea.
