thoughts.

watched idol gives back the other time and it left me with several cloudy thoughts. just how many pple saw those african children dying from illness or sickness or whatsoever. and most of them are orphans as such, having had parents that succumbed to illness due to the poor medical conditions at their country.

and the story goes on.. thats the reason why we should donate, pple! charities with borders scream out the need to feed the poor and nourish the malnourished. but just how much of the money that we give really goes out to these people in need? does all the money really go into getting supplies like medicine and food and education fees etc? i highly doubt so.

and thats where american idol did a really good job. they ensured that the people in need really do get the help needed. and they plea to the public and the millions of others out there to do the same for them. and before i forget, they're good. they have a little entertainment and have artistes pleaing to the public and they show clips of them really going over to help the needy. unlike singapore. where all they do is have the artistes perform some daring stunts. and plea to the public. where exactly is the relevance to that i ask. the artistes, after performing the supposedly life threatening stunt, all pant and say that this is not tough as compared to what the needy (usually kidney or cancer patients) are going through. WAD? i see no relevance nor logic at all. and whatsmore, they give prizes to the 50th caller or something. so people call so as to get the prize and not to donate out of goodwill. wow brilliant move i must say. funnily enough, i have stopped watching every charity show. oops, let me rephrase that. i have stopped watching every singaporean charity show. yes, thats it.

sometimes i wish i was rich. like incredibly rich. and i would be afford to provide the needy with some help. but how many people, when they get rich, think about others who need the money more than they do? i'm sure once they get rich, thoughts that fill their mind would be like ' what model of car should i buy? how many should i buy? should i get the house on the beach? etcetc.

i used to think that america is a beautiful place. filled with fun-filled people. and days spent there would definitely be much better than boring old singapore. then i realised that there are parts of america that are not that beautiful after all. the places that were hit by the hurricane for example. the people there have to live in temporary houses and they would give anything just to go back to living in their houses. the ironic thing is that the media influenced me into thinking that america was paradise. and the media was also the one that straightened my thoughts and showed me how nowhere is perfect.

not that i wouldnt give anything to go to america. i would still want to travel the world and visit other places if i get the chance to do so. its just that i'm slightly more thankful for being able to stay in a place like singapore for now..

i mean, who knows what might happen in the future? if a 2 yr old boy could be killed together with his parents on a leisure trip suddenly, who knows what might happen? i used to think that if its time for us to go, we have to go. but for a 2 yr old kid? its time for him to go? he has just lived 2 yrs of his life and thats the end. nada. full stop. where's the logic in it all? its bloody unfair i'm telling you. so better be thankful for the small little things now before its too late and you wished you could turn back the time and redo things.

and back to the african children, where little things like a stranger going over to their country to provide them with some help are already blessings to them.

smiles that could melt ur heart. help them. stop the poverty cycle from going round and round.

sorry, was just feeling kinda emo weird. c'est bizzare. haha. just thought of penning my thoughts down.
